Who to Give Gifts to This Christmas Season

06 December 2022

So who do you give gifts to this Christmas season?

Unlike Santa Claus, you don’t have a Nice or Naughty list as a basis. You don’t know who’s been good in front of you or behind your back. You don’t know who’s deserving of a gift or who is just using you for money or whatnot.

You are an introvert and just want these Christmas events to stop.

But the list won’t do any listings if you don’t sit with it and carefully think about the group of people you want to give a gift to this Christmas season. Regardless of how they perceive you or your closeness level, your only concern should be whether or not you want to give them a gift. It doesn’t matter how they’ll react to it because what you are after is the feeling of giving, of maximizing that opportunity to impact change in someone else’s life. It shouldn’t matter what you get in return; what matters is and what they will most likely remember for the years to come is that you remembered and gave them something during this very busy season.

But that also goes without saying that you shouldn’t buy anything mindlessly. It will most probably depend on the person you’re giving a gift to. Here’s probably what your list would look like.

Parents

While the concept of not being indebted to your parents has been embraced by the younger generation, it will still feel so great when you are able to put a smile on your parents’ faces. While you don’t hold any responsibility over their choices of conceiving and giving birth to you, it’s nice to acknowledge and thank them for all the years that they took care of you. They had to say no to many engagements and be present for you and the grandchildren. You at least owe them a fun Christmas party.

Your Other Half

Your partner in life will most likely be right by your side until the end of your life. You most likely do the majority of your life together. You love and are in love with this person so, of course, you’d naturally want him or her to be happy. If it is through gifts, then so be it. There are others whose love language is gifts so they would really appreciate a gift this Christmas season and take it as a sign of your love.

Your Children

Especially when they are still young. Others say that Christmas is really for the kids. We reckon they tend to have the most fun because they don’t have to pay for anything and just enjoy the meals served and the gifts that they’ll get. It can be quite traumatic for a kid if he or she grows up with sad Christmas memories so while they’re young, treat them and give them the best of life that you can afford.

Best friends

Your best friends will most likely have the same interests as you and spend activities with you when your partner is not around. You will most likely run to your best friend when you need advice about someone who broke your heart or when things are getting heavy at work. Show them how much you appreciate their presence in your life by giving them a special gift.

People You’ve worked with, client, or your boss

Even if it’s just for decency, it will help you have a better relationship with your colleagues if you remember them during this season. You might think sending them a gift might just go unnoticed but they will positively regard you and if they remember you for a future project, they will most likely tap you to do it. It’s all part of relationship management so don’t hesitate to show your thanks to the people at work. They make your life at work much more bearable.

Other relatives

Mom will most likely ask you anyway to give to your aunts and uncles, nieces and nephew, so before she even does, show that you care by having your gifts ready. Relatives are your family so you’d want them to be happy as well during this season of giving.

People who need it the most

Even though these are practically strangers, you can push the envelope even further and give joy to the less fortunate. You have been blessed by the cards of destiny that you live under a roof and have food on the table so show gratitude by giving back to those who have less in life and have poor living conditions. They will forever be grateful.

So once you’ve written that list from different groups of people in your life, what should you give them? That is your call again but one suggestion from us would be ergonomic furniture. Hear us out.
